Laser and CNC engraving for detailed markings and patterns
We offer both laser and CNC engraving for detailed text, logos, patterns, and technical markings on plastic sheet materials. Laser engraving provides fine detail, while CNC engraving suits deeper, tactile results.
Popular for signage, wayfinding, and decorative applications.

Service Guide
When engraving is the right fit
Engraving is used when a plastic part needs permanent markings, logos, labels, serial numbers, wayfinding text, decorative detail, or technical information built into the surface.
Laser engraving is best for fine detail and surface marking, especially on acrylic. CNC engraving suits deeper, tactile or more robust marks on compatible sheet materials.
Choose engraving when stickers, vinyl, or printed marks may wear, peel, or look temporary. It is especially useful for signs, awards, control panels, labels, displays and repeat commercial pieces.
Artwork and legibility notes
Clean vector artwork gives the best result. Text should be supplied as outlines or with fonts identified, and logos should be high quality rather than pulled from a low-resolution screenshot.
Engraving size, line weight, contrast and material colour all affect readability. A subtle mark on clear acrylic can look premium, while a safety label or wayfinding sign may need stronger contrast or filled engraving.
If the engraving needs to align with holes, edges, bends, or other parts, provide the full layout rather than just the logo. Positioning is usually as important as the engraving itself.
For safety, compliance or wayfinding work, test the message at real viewing distance. Small engraved text can look sharp on screen but become hard to read once installed behind glare, above eye level or on a low-contrast material.
How engraving jobs are quoted
Pricing depends on material, marking method, artwork setup, engraving area, detail level, depth, and quantity. A small detailed logo can take longer than larger simple text.
For repeat work, supply a naming system or spreadsheet if each part has a different serial number, label or room name. Variable data should be checked before production starts.
Engraving can be combined with laser cutting, CNC machining, drilling, polishing, or fabrication. Include the whole finished part in the brief so the team can quote the correct workflow and avoid duplicated setup.
If the engraved part will be cleaned often, handled by the public or used outdoors, mention the environment. The team may recommend a different material, mark depth or contrast approach.
For branded signs or awards, include the final approval pathway. Names, logos and spelling should be checked before cutting because engraved mistakes are not easy to undo.

Common Questions
Can Plastix engrave logos into acrylic?
Yes. Plastix can laser or CNC engrave logos, text, patterns and markings into compatible plastic materials, with acrylic being one of the most common options.
Is engraving permanent?
Engraving removes or marks the material surface, so it is more permanent than a sticker or surface label. The final durability depends on material, depth and use environment.
Can each engraved part have different text?
Yes, variable text can be quoted for labels, names, serial numbers and wayfinding pieces. Send the data clearly so it can be checked before production.
